Julia FREAKING Nunes
Why hello there, internet. How have you been? I've been freakin' fantastic thanks for asking. What did I do on Saturday? Say, I think I went to go see Julia Nunes at The Living Room in NYC. (If you don't know who Julia is go here and find out, you won't regret it)
I went to this amazing night with my sister, and we got there really early because we wanted good seats. To our great surprise, there were already people waiting outside playing the ukulele and such. Julia came and hung out with us a little while later, which was very exciting. I now know she is just as funny and amazing in person as she is in her videos. We had pizza, played songs and laughed a lot for almost two hours before they let us in. It was all great fun. There were a few nerdfighters there as well, and we all freaked out because someone who looked like Hank walked by. It obviously was not Hank, but it was exciting nonetheless.
Then when we finally got in we got pretty awesome seats right in a table at the front, to the left of the stage. She acted silly for a while and made us all laugh very hard, and then she started playing. I have tons of footage on my camera/computer, which I will upload eventually, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. She told us a few really hilarious stories, one about her and her friend Dan spying on a naked girl in the dorm next to hers. I sang throughout the entire show, very loudly, along with many (by many I mean few) others.
Afterwards we got to meet her, say hi and take a monumentally ugly horrible picture of my sister and I. Julia looks adorable, of course. Grrr, silly photogenic celebrity. I am not uploading this picture because it is just that ugly, and you're just going to have to take my word for it. I can't wait to see her again, the emotions in her songs come across so much when you're there in person, it's very touching. Best night, ever, no competition.
